Ryan Gosling’s Julian is a drug-dealer in Bangkok until one day when his violent sexually aggressive brother murders a girl and is punished with death by a cop called Chang. Julian’s foul-mouthed mother, played by Kristin Scott Thomas, arrives to pick up the body and pressures Julian to seek revenge until no man or woman is left standing.
It’s refreshing to read a different take on this after the widespread ‘worst movie ever’ reviews from every single critic. I know this will be a movie I’ll enjoy. I tend to place atmosphere ahead of most things and it sounds like that is exactly what this movie goes for.
I hope so! If you liked Drive, then I don’t see why you wouldn’t like OGF. Its definitely not for everyone, some people just hate really long takes and minimal dialogue, but the film isn’t obscure at all, it’s quite blatant in its symbolism really. Great mood.
